The LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon was stopped mid-way through due to high temperatures and extreme humidity on race day.
However, now Denver Marathon officials are offering free registration to Chicago runners who want to get to the finish line.

A number of questions still remain from the LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon despite the recent autopsy report which determined that the heat was not responsible for the tragic death that took place last Sunday.
Although inside sources have reported that Chicago’s Olympic bid is only in ‘3rd place’, the Windy City’s Mayor Daley feels otherwise. Either way, and as CBS 2’s Chief Correspondent reports, few believe that recent complaints about the marathon will thwart Chicago’s Olympic hopes.

About 7,000 runners came out in the damp weather Monday for the 31st annual Tufts 10K road race in Boston, MA. The evnt also played host to the U.S. Women’s 10k Championship.

They came from all over the world to participate in the Medoc Marathon, a sporting event that can only exist in France. The 42-kilometre course wound Saturday through Bordeaux’s most famous wine estates, and offered runners the chance to sample different wines throughout the race.

Asafa Powell bounced back from his disappointing third place at the world championships on Sunday when he broke his 100-meter world record with a time of 9.74 seconds.
The Jamaican set the record in his heat at the Rieti IAAF Grand Prix and will have the chance to better the time in the final later on Sunday.

In a video interview by Dan Sloan of Reuters, track legend and London Olympics Organizing Committee Chairman Sebastian Coe discusses the lessons to be learned from the IAAF World Championships in Osaka.
Despite the historic and dramatic races and performances at the World Championships, Coe explains that there is a lot that needs to be improved as he prepares for the London 2012 Olympics in terms of marketing, ticket sales, and media campaigns that can turn runners like Tyson Gay and Bernard Lagat into international heroes.
