USATF Annual Meeting LogoThe 2008 USA Track & Field (USATF) Annual Meeting begins tomorrow at the Silver Legacy Resort in Reno, Nevada.

Adam Jacobs, TheFinalSprint.com Editor-in-Chief, will be covering the event live from Reno from Wednesday evening, December 3rd until it’s conclusion on Sunday morning, December 6th. The Running Film Festival (RFF), scheduled for July 3-5 on the University of Oregon campus, is the first film festival ever devoted to the subjects of track & field, road racing, cross country, marathon and ultra endurance running. This inaugural event will coincide with the U.S. Track & Field Trials and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Ryan Shay Memorial Fund.

Many of America’s most well known athletes and motivational icons will be featured in the feature films and documentaries screened over the runningfilmfestival logothree day event. In January Derrick was named the 2007-2008 Gatorade National Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year. He also finished second behind TFS Elite Athlete Blogger Michael Fout at the national Foot Locker Cross Country Championships and most recently ran the fastest 5k ever (13:55:96) in a high school race at the Arcadia Invitational.

In the interview, Derrick talks about his recent successes and why he’ll head to Stanford this fall instead becoming an Illini. Jacobs Now Sole Owner
of TFS Network

TFS Media Network logoRunning media entrepreneur Adam Jacobs has bought out his partners and is now the sole owner of The Final Sprint, LLC, the parent company of several fitness-related websites, including TheFinalSprint.com. Jacobs, a former law student, will re-brand his business under the name TFS Media Network.

Jacobs will hold the title of CEO and president, and will remain editor of TheFinalSprint.com.

“We take great pride in our commitment to high-quality, provocative and honest reporting,” said Jacobs in a prepared statement whose podcast features are the most popular elements of his website. “I am passionate about leading the company to continued success based on these core values.”

TFS Media also owns the websites HerActiveLife.com, HesFit.com, and TrailFit.com. The company is based in Jersey City, N.J.
