(Elite Athlete Blog - Entry #1)

Section: News & Results, Track & Field, Elite Athlete Blogs, Sara Hall
Welcome to the official blog of U.S. middle-distance runner Sara Hall. Sara’s list of running accolades include being a former NCAA All- American at Stanford, the 2006 USA 5K road champion, 5th place finisher in the 1500m at the 2007 USA Track & Field Championships and the 2006 champion at the Continental Airlines Fifth Avenue Mile. Check back every other Friday for her latest entry!
Hello from Philly! I am staying out here in between east coast competitions for the next couple weeks with my training partners Jen Rhines and Kassi Anderson. Tomorrow we head to Boston for the Reebok Indoor Games, and then Jen and I will return before Millrose the following weekend. It has been fun getting to know the running community here in Philly and being reminded how running brings people together socially. I had this same impression in Flagstaff, Arizona prior to coming to the east coast. The running community in Flagstaff is made up of all kinds of people. From working the night shift at a pharmacy to taking a break from practicing law to recently graduating from college, all the runners come from different places, yet are brought together by this common passion.
These experiences, as well as some others I have had recently, have reiterated to me how life is all about relationships. It is so easy to get tunnel-vision as a professional athlete, and become so fixated on the goals you have in front of you and where you are in the process that it becomes all-consuming (especially in an Olympic year!).

Mottram, Cragg set for Reebok Boston Indoor Games
Posted January 26th, 2007 at 10:12 AM by Martha Jones
Section: News & Results, Track & Field
It will be Craig v. Cragg at 3000 meters in the Reebok Boston Indoor Games on Jan. 27 when Craig Mottram, the 2005 World Championships bronze medalist, faces off against Alistair Cragg, the 2005 European Indoor Champion at 3000 meters, organizers announced today.
Both athletes have a history here. Mottram, the first non-African to win a medal at 5000 meters in a major championship since 1987, is also a two-time World Cup titleholder at 3000m, where in 2006 he upset Kenenisa Bekele for the victory. Last year in Boston, the gregarious Aussie won at 2 Miles over a deep field that included Cragg, who finished third less than a second behind. Two years ago at this meet, Cragg – Ireland’s national record-holder – won at 3000 meters when he, too, surprised Bekele.
Joining them in the 3000-meter field will be American Jorge Torres, the 2006 USA Champion at 10,000 meters.

Reebok Running: Making Progress
Posted September 21st, 2006 at 7:09 PM by Adam Jacobs
Section: Gear & Apparel, Running Shoes
Reebok’s exponential growth and strong emergence in the running market is hard to miss. Their advertisements are everywhere - their shoe line has exploded - and their apparel can hold its own against Nike, New Balance, Under Armour and even Brooks.
For all you skeptics out there - guess which shoe was just designated as the “Editor’s Choice” by Runner’s World Magazine? Believe it or not - it is the all-new Trinity KFS - by guess who? REEBOK. This shoe is somewhat of a hybrid as it offers cushioning but is also characterized by Road Runner Sports to be a stability shoe. It is best for medium frame runners with normal to slight pronation and normal arches.
