$19,000 Prize Money Purse for Riker Danzig Newport 10,000

The fifth annual Riker Danzig Newport 10,000, set for Saturday, May 10, in Jersey City, N.J., is offering a $19,000 prize money purse, organizers announced today. The flat 10-K, which boasts beautiful views of Manhattan across the Hudson River, also serves as the USATF-NJ Open Championship for men and women.

“The Newport 10,000 has traditionally attracted outstanding elite runners including 2006 ING New York City Women’s runner up, Tetyana Hladyr, who set the course record of 32:00 in 2006,” said race director Mark Zenobia via e-mail. “Catherine Ndereba, Jemima Jelagat, Julius Kibet (men’s record of 28:42) and Linus Maiyo have also competed,” he added.

Jacobs Now Sole Owner
of TFS Network

TFS Media Network logo Running media entrepreneur Adam Jacobs has bought out his partners and is now the sole owner of The Final Sprint, LLC, the parent company of several fitness-related websites, including TheFinalSprint.com. Jacobs, a former law student, will re-brand his business under the name TFS Media Network.

Jacobs will hold the title of CEO and president, and will remain editor of TheFinalSprint.com.

“We take great pride in our commitment to high-quality, provocative and honest reporting,” said Jacobs in a prepared statement whose podcast features are the most popular elements of his website. “I am passionate about leading the company to continued success based on these core values.”

TFS Media also owns the websites HerActiveLife.com, HesFit.com, and TrailFit.com. The company is based in Jersey City, N.J.
