robert cheruiyot boston marathonThe lead pack has been whittled to six as the leaders are continuing their torrid pace through the half way point of the 112th Boston Marathon. The half was reached in 1:03:07, well under pace for the course record of 2:07:14 set by Robert Cheruiyot in 2006.

Cheruiyot and Moroccan Abderrahime Bouramdane have been taking most of the pacing duties in the last few miles. The course becomes more difficult in the next few miles, so the men will be tested as they roll towards Heartbreak Hill.
