Dear family and close friends,
I hope this letter finds all of you well. I know some of you must be wondering where the pictures are that I so often attach to my emails. Unfortunately, this is a much different type of letter. I write this letter to all of you for a few reasons.
The first is simply because I love you all. Some things will be happening in the next week that I want you all to know about from me FIRST. You deserve this because you have been there for me from the very beginning. You have supported me throughout the many struggles that I have had in my life and continue to do so to this day. You deserve to hear about Marion from Marion and not from the USA Today or CNN.
The second reason is because I finally want to shed much baggage that has been tearing me down for a long time. I want to share with you all my humanness. The fact that I have made mistakes in my life, made bad decisions, and have carried a great amount of pain and hurt throughout my life.

To some, running can seem like a solitary activity. And for certain individuals, this statement certainly rings true. Some athletes love nothing more than to savor the peace, quiet, and relaxation that accompany their solo runs. For others, running is the perfect opportunity to have great conversations and make unforgettable new friends.
Running in pairs or groups is an activity long recognized for its benefits. Besides the obvious safety issues that running with others addresses, group running has also been known to have both performance-related and personal advantages. For starters, you have your own personal cheering squad to keep you motivated and working hard. When you are surrounded by people who are encouraging you to run faster and harder, and supporting you when you feel as though you can’t go on, it suddenly becomes easier to push yourself to that next level.

Picture this: running hundreds of miles across state highways and trails, sometimes with only the moon to light your way, supported by dedicated teammates who are ready to trade-off with you every 3 miles or so follow along in a decorated van, while you all envision the festivities that await you at the finish line. Sound like something you’d enjoy? Then maybe you should consider signing yourself up for an endurance relay race.
Relay races used to bring to mind images of high school or college athletes running around an oblong track with side attractions consisting mostly of marching band music and fundraising booths. And though there’s nothing wrong with such an athletic event, these days there are alternative activities to consider. Welcome to the age of the endurance relay race, where distances are lengthened to stretch across hundreds of miles, limited time-frames are instilled, and food and fun often meet you at the end of your journey.
Endurance relay races take the idea of standard relays to the next level. From longer distances to picturesque courses to the chance to compete in some over-night racing, endurance relays make the process of relay events both fun and rewarding.
