USA Track & Field has been named one of the 15 Most Influential Sports Education “Teams” by the Institute for International Sport. 2007 Blue Planet Run Concludes in New York City

An historic around-the-world relay run reached its finish line today in New York City, marking the completion of an unprecedented three-month athletic endeavor that is raising funds to deliver safe drinking water to some of the 1.1 billion people who currently live without it.
The inaugural 2007 Blue Planet Run, an event made possible by the generous support of The Dow Chemical Company, ended at noon at Manhattan’s South Street Seaport.
The twenty original Blue Planet Run team members who circumnavigated the globe, and two alternates who joined the journey along the way, ran through a crowd of fans, family and friends who were gathered at the landmark New York City waterfront locale to celebrate with the group as it completed its epic 95-day, 15,200-mile expedition through 16 countries.
Beginning from the United Nations in New York City on June 1, the Blue Planet Run team has run relay-style 24 hours a day, seven days a week across Europe, Russia, Asia, Canada and the United States. The runners have endured some of the world’s toughest conditions, from swatting flies through the Gobi Desert to navigating city streets in Beijing to coping with the blistering summer heat of America’s heartland.
Along the way, the Blue Planet Run inspired people around the world to donate to the Blue Planet Run Foundation (BPRF), the non-profit group that organized the Run. Because of Dow’s support, BPRF dedicates one-hundred percent of the money raised to fund grassroots safe-drinking-water projects in rural communities.

Finding a quality physical therapist

It is hard, at times, to find a quality physical therapist. As a practicing physical therapist for nearly 15 years, I have heard some incredible horror stories of people going to “PT” only to receive a hot pack, ultrasound, and a sheet of exercises. The therapist might have had 5 or 6 other clients being treated simultaneously, and the new client had a barely 5 minute “consultation” before having the hot pack slapped on.
Of course there are also great therapists out there who can eliminate a chronic pain after only 2 or 3 sessions. Those who can explain and teach proper body mechanics in ways that even the most uncoordinated clients can understand and put into practice. So how does the average person find the latter and not fall into the former?

chasingKIMBIA is excited to announce the Auction for Education and to formally introduce The KIMbia Foundation.
The hope is to raise awareness about the current state of education in Kenya and to offer people an opportunity to support education-related projects there. (Click here to see a video about this initiative!)
The Auction for Education

On the front is the KIMbia Athletics logo and on the back is the Kenyan shield. This is the same shoe that Ben and Baba will wear during the 2007 Boston Marathon.
The auction has officially opened with a starting bid of $100. It will close at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time on April 7th. The winning bid will go to support one of three education-related projects in Kenya (the winner’s choice).
