Reebok Boston Indoor Games

reese hoffa shotputReese Hoffa, Jenn Stuczynski, Dwight Phillips, Adam Nelson, Khadevis Robinson , Angela Daigle-Bowen and Galen Rupp headline a top international field that includes Ethiopia’s Tirunesh Dibaba and Meseret Defar for this Saturday’s Reebok Boston Indoor Games, the second event of the 2008 Indoor Visa Championship Series.

Track fans around the country will have limitless opportunities to catch all the action from Boston. ESPN2 will broadcast the meet, hosted at the Reggie Lewis Center, from 3-5 Eastern Time on Sunday. Beginning Tuesday morning, the meet will be available via Webcast, linked from www.usatf.org.

Men’s shot put leads the way

The world’s top three men’s shot putters will battle it out in what promises to be a memorable competition. Hoffa [Pictured] enters the event #1 world ranked as the reigning world indoor and outdoor champion.

Gay breaks another record as USA goes 1-3 in men’s 200; Phillips takes LJ bronze

Tyson Gay 2007 USA Track &  Field ChampionshipsWorld 100m champion Tyson Gay (Fayetteville, Ark.) broke yet another meet record held by Michael Johnson in an evening that also saw Team USA pick up two bronze medals Thursday at the IAAF World Outdoor Track& Field Championships at Nagai Stadium.

At the 2007 AT&T USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in June, Gay set a pair of meet records in the 100 (9.84) and 200 (19.62), the latter previously held by world record holder Michael Johnson. Running into a .8 meters-per-second headwind Thursday night, Gay took down Johnson’s meet record at the World Championships, coming from behind to win his second gold medal of the meet.

Track & Field to take center stage Saturday in New York

Reebok Grand Prix logoThe shining stars of track & field will make the lights of Times Square seem dim in comparison Saturday when many of the world’s finest athletes compete in New York City at the 2007 Reebok Grand Prix at Icahn Stadium on Randall’s Island.

Tyson Gay, Lauryn Williams, Dwight Phillips, Rachelle Smith, Shawn Crawford, Wallace Spearmon, Allyson Felix, Hazel Clark, Bernard Lagat, Stacy Dragila, Alan Webb, Jenn Stuczynski, Bershawn Jackson, Terrence Trammell, Tirunesh Dibaba, Liu Xiang and Craig Mottram and are just a few of the big names who will be on hand.

The third event of USA Track & Field’s 2007 Outdoor Visa Championship Series, the Reebok Grand Prix will be televised Saturday night, June 2, on ESPN2 from 11 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., and on Sunday, June 3, from 1 - 2 p.m. on CBS. All times are Eastern.
