Video: Chicago Runners Can Finish At Denver Marathon

DenverMarathon_Logo_2007The LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon was stopped mid-way through due to high temperatures and extreme humidity on race day.

However, now Denver Marathon officials are offering free registration to Chicago runners who want to get to the finish line.

Video: Circus Elephants Set Pace For Denver Marathon

Elephants from the Ringling Brothers Circus ran a mini-marathon near the Denver Coliseum Wednesday morning to set the pace for the Denver Marathon on Sunday.

Marathon Recap: October 14-15, 2006

beijing marathon logo.jpgThis past weekend was quite eventful for the world’s marathoning community.

He is a recap of some of the most notable marathons from last weekend:

ING Amsterdam Marathon:

  • Kenya swept the event. Solomon Busendich won the men’s field in 2:08:52 and Rose Cheruiyot was the female winner with a time of 2:28:26.
  • Last year’s fastest time, Haile Gebrselassie’s 2:06:20, took place at the Amsterdam Marathon. However, heavy winds prevented a repeat this year.


ANA Beijing International Marathon:

  • On the men’s side, Kwambai won the $20,00 grand prize by running the race in 2:10:36. This year’s Rome marathon winner, fellow Kenyan David Kipkorir, came in second and finished only 10 seconds behind Kwambai.
  • In the women’s race - China’s own runners were dominating; making up seven of the the top ten finishing spots. Sun Weiwei finished #1 in 2:34:41 and won $15,000 in prize money.
