Sprinter Battles World’s Best While Battling Cancer
Fran Scott, a 49 year old sprinter from Great Britain, was diagnosed with liver cancer last year. That hasn’t stopped him from winning a gold medal in the M-45 4×400m Relay at the 2007 World Masters Championships in Riccione, Italy. Read more at: [South Manchester Reporter]
Legendary Sprinter John Carlos at the Center of Jena 6 Protest
John Carlos (right, with left arm raised), who – alongside Tommie Smith – famously raised a black-gloved fist at the 200m medal ceremony in the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City is now lending his name to the Jena 6 protest. Lornah Kiplagat to Defend Title at World Road Running Championships
Kenyan-native Lornah Kiplagat, who is now a Dutch citizen, will defend her 2006 IAAF World Road Running Championship title in Udine, Italy on October 14th, 2007.
