Giving Athletics, Inc.
Adam Jacobs, Editor-in-Chief of TheFinalSprint.com, provides support for and serves on the Board of Advisers of Giving Athletics, Inc. (formerly Shoes 4 the Soul, Inc.); a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization focused on “Inspiring Social Change through Athletic Participation”. The mission of Giving Athletics is to encourage a more physically active lifestyle for those living under less fortunate circumstances. By collecting and redistributing new and fairly used athletic shoes and apparel donated by athletes of all ages and levels of athletic participation to these communities, Giving Athletics will share one of the most simple yet profound gifts we have … athletic participation.
Running Film Festival (RFF)
Jacobs also co-founded and is the Executive Producer of the Running Film Festival, the first film festival ever devoted to the subjects of track & field, marathon running, and cross country. With the help of presenting sponsors TheFinalSprint.com and Running Times, the first annual RFF took place at the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials in Eugene, Oregon from July 3-5, 2008. RFF donates a portion of all proceeds to the Ryan Shay Memorial Fund, an organization established in memory of distance runner and Olympic hopeful Ryan Shay, who died suddenly during the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials in New York City in 2007. The fund supports Ryan’s vision to help disadvantaged individuals, groups and communities, as well as American runners in financial need.
