… And they’re off!
The 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials- Women’s Marathon is underway with the three spots on the U.S. Olympic team on the line. M
agdalena Lewy Boulet got out to a fast start and had a 17 second lead about 1.5 miles in. Lewy Boulet split 6:03, 5:47, 17:29 for her first 3 miles (so not too fast!) with the pack (including Deena Kastor) some 43 seconds behind at 3 miles.
There are huge crowds assembled and nearly perfect weather, so look for the pace to pick up soon.
