David Neville, Kelly Willie, and Greg Nixon took the three preliminary heats of the Men’s 400m at the USATF Indoor Championships Saturday night at the Reggie Lewis Center in Roxbury, MA.
Neville held off a fierce challenge by Joel Stallworth to turn in the fastest time of the day (47.19). Willie won his heat easily, while Nixon and his competitors had to run around St. Gregory’s William McCaskill who went down with an apparent hamstring injury on the first lap.
Besides the heat winners, Stallworth, Jamaal Torrence, Tyree Washington, James Davis, Derrick Brew, and Anthony Campbell advanced to the two heat final.
