KB: I am not sure if there is any Hollywood actress who is tall like me and would manage to cross a hurdle! Maybe my grown-up daughter if I’ll be lucky enough to have one?

KB: Where doesn’t matter, as long as I am in line with myself.

KB: Beach bum.

EA: What have you learned from your travels?

KB: That there is still so much more to see!

EA: What’s the first thing you do when you arrive somewhere new?

KB: Go to a store to check out what different kinds of food they have here.

EA: What makes you depressed?

KB: The experience of the moments right before the moment when I realize that I have to change my goals in order to move forward.

EA: When did you last cry and why?

KB: Three days ago, when I hit my toe at the door and then tried to put on a shoe.

EA: Cat or dog?

KB: cat.

EA: Skinny or curvy?

KB: curvy.

EA: Kisses or cuddles?

KB: cuddles.

KB: sweet.

KB: geeky.

KB: give.

KB: Neither.

KB: jeans.

EA: What’s the best after race / championship party you’ve ever been to?

KB: Munich 2002.

EA: Will you stay involved in athletics when you retire?

KB: I believe so. There is a lot of work that needs to be done.

EA: What rules would you change to make athletics / your event more exciting?

KB: Zero false starts and many diiferent kinds of team challenges instead of all those hyper meets.

EA: What’s the biggest challenge facing athletics today?

KB: Doping and the decreasing willingness of young people to pursue goals with sacrifices, sweat and pain, also through rainy days!

EA: How would you like to be remembered?

KB: As an athlete who eventually still stood up and smiled even in the darkest moments of running!

EA: What makes athletics the best sport on the planet?

KB: It is the most basic of all human motions, that all of us needed to survive before civilisation and all of us will need again to survive after civilisation…therefore: hang on…survival of the fittest will apply again, sooner or later!
