U.S. Olympic marathon hopeful Ryan Hall, a devout Christian, takes us through a 15-mile altitude-training run in 1:16:47 (a 5:07 per mile pace!) at Mammoth Lakes, CA (elevation: 7,000 feet).
The interview was originally posted on GodTube, what Josh Cox - who also produced this video - calls ‘The Christian answer to YouTube”.

The Final Sprint
Ryan….Just wanted to let you know what an inspiration you have been to me….not only in my running, but especialy in my spiritual life. Whenever I go running now, I make sure to give God the glory.
November 1st, 2007 at 1:48 amI love you bro! Great video.
November 1st, 2007 at 10:13 amI love that some computer users get to see the men’s trials marathon live, but I wonder why NBC and Media Zone do not have the desire or know-how to stream to Macs. I just watched Ironman live on my Mac and loved it.
November 3rd, 2007 at 12:53 amWatching you praise God on NBC was very inspiring and encouraging! Thank you for being an ambassador for Christ. I know that he will continue to use you and your family for his glory.

Just wanted to say it is great in this day of age to have someone acknowledge the Lord and His relationship to all that we do and accomplish, and not hold back because of possible reprocussions of the media in a world where they are trying to snuff Him out!
November 4th, 2007 at 5:10 pmThank you for your comments. I am also a Christian Believer and a runner (an older one - 55 yrs.)I did not know Ryan was a Christian, but I’m glad to see you can have a strong faith and God and be a great athlete. My heart also goes out to Ryan’s wife. She must be hurting so much and needs are prayers.

November 7th, 2007 at 10:26 amWhen I heard you were a strong believer in our Lord Jesus Christ I checked on-line to see your testimony. I came across this video and enjoyed it. I am age 54 and have been both a runner and believer for over 30 years. I’ll be praying that you will walk with God and continue to glorify Him in the months ahead and in the Olympic marathon.
You are an inspiration to us all. Upon watching your finish at the trials I began to cry realizing that there are people out there that do live their dreams for their creator. Thank you for such a public display of worship. Praise God for runners like you.
November 7th, 2007 at 12:31 pmCongratulations Ryan!! Praise God!! Your testimony is truly inspiring. Continue to honor Jesus Christ through your amazing quest in the Olympics. Represent Jesus well as you run as He represented us well on the cross!!
November 9th, 2007 at 8:55 amryan, what a great example you are for a new upcoming generation of runners. IN a sport where ’self centeredness’ can be ‘the only thing’ you model a fresh focus on the Lord and run in a way that would make a guy like eric Liddell smile “When I run, i feel God’s pleasure.” Do this for as long as you can.
December 1st, 2007 at 7:46 pmRyan, you are my hero next to Jesus Christ I hope that someday I can be half as fast as you.

January 29th, 2008 at 10:30 amWhat an inspiration to all! The country is pulling for you in Beijing.
[…] Cox and Hall last paired up for the production of a workout and introspective video in October 2007 when they created “The Ryan Hall Story”. That video was filmed as Hall was preparing to head to New York for the U.S. Olympic Men’s Marathon Trials, a race that he would go on to win in record-setting fashion. […]
