A Case To Legalize Steroids by Olympian
Kate Schmidt, Olympic bronze medalist in 1972 and 1976, is making a case for the legalization of steroids in sport. Her argument’s essense is that “doctors, parents, athletes and coaches could acquire a greater knowledge and understanding of them. Use could be made much safer, clinical trials could be performed and dangerous overuse curbed.” Read more at: [LA Times]

Route for Beijing Marathon Changed
China’s Communist Party met and changed the Beijing Olympic marathon course. “Instead of starting at Tiananmen Square in central Beijing, the race will start and finish at the National Olympic Sports Center.” The reason given was that the race would conflict with a “major national event” (presumably a Communist event) that would be taking place at Tiananmen Square on the same day.
