Jearl Miles Clark, a five-time Olympian who in the past defended Marion Jones in the face of then unproven doping allegations, just released the following statement about her former teammate:
“I am upset and chagrined about the entire drug situation. I defended Marion against critics and said that I wouldn’t believe she had taken performance enhancing drugs unless she said it herself. Well, the other day she admitted it and the reality of the situation has to be dealt with.
My immediate thought is that this is bad for athletes like myself, who are truly clean and run outstanding times. I feel that everyone will suspect us of cheating and look at us with a jaundiced eye.
Concerning the medals, I don’t know what will happen.
Whatever the out come, I have my family’s love and support and the Olympic spirit will always be in my heart. These can never be taken away.
Marion may face charges for lying to federal agents and for using performance enhancing drugs. She made mistakes and now has to pay for them. Unfortunately, others may pay for those mistakes too.”

Dear Jearl Clark,
I don’t know if you have heard of me or remember me but my name is Chris Thomas. I presently live in Plano Texas, but prior to living here, I lived in Knoxville Tennessee.
You and I have something (or should I say) some”ONE” in common.
Kim Heinks (L.M.T) has been my very best friend for the last 18 years. There is nothing I wouldn’t do for her and this is the reason I am writing to you today. There is something that I have wanted to do for quite some time now and I am in need of your minor assistance.
Kim’s birthday is in June and I have decided to create a website for her massage business.
I have already contacted the designer and he is of the greatest quality I assure you.
The website will have the basic template of a bio, address, description of services, links to a map and important FAQS. In the website, there will also be a page set aside for Referrals and Client recommendations. I am writing to you because I consider you a high profile client of hers.
It would be a thrill if you would write a small paragraph detailing your overview of Kim’s work with you and how it has assisted you or made a difference in your career, and if you could possibly send a small photo as an attachment with either a face shot or a shot of you in action that would be great.
So when people see your image they will read your comments and also see the Olympic rings next to your name to highlight your achievement. I do think this would give you added positive exposure and would do great things for her website.
Again, Kim DOES NOT KNOW that I am doing this for her and won’t know anything about it until July 1st, so please keep this secret between and not share this detail with anyone, because Knoxville is a smaller community and word gets around quick.
This is meant to be a Birthday Present from me to her and you can help me make it all the more special. If you have questions please do not hesitate to call me on my cell 214-392-7587
Thank you
Chris Thomas
Please send all attachments’ to my email CTtexas@gmail.com
PS: Thank you again for doing this – this will mean the world to her and to me.
