Notable accomplishments by Team USA athlete at the 2007 IAAF World Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Osaka:
- 1st medal in women’s 10,000m
- 1st gold medal in men’s pole vault
- 1st gold medal in men’s 1,500m
- 1st medal of any kind in men’s 5,000m
- Bernard Lagat is first man to win 1,500-5,000 double at World Championships
- 1st time three Americans in men’s 5,000m final
- 1st time since 1987 Team USA won men’s and women’s 4×100m relay
- 1st men’s javelin medal since 1983
- 1st time one country has swept all four relays at World Championships
- Allyson Felix largest margin of victory in W200m in World Championships history
- Felix is second woman in history to win 3 gold medals at one World Championships
