World Athletics Final Middle- and Long-Distance Preview
In the latest WAF preview there are speculations about who will run the middle- and long-distance events this late in the season and why they will do it. Runners to watch (men): Mbulaeni Mulaudzi (800m), Daniel Kipchirchir Komen (1500m), Craig Mottram (3000m), Paul Kipsiele Koech (3000m SC), Sileshi Sihine (5000m). Women: Janeth Jepkosgei (800m), Maryam Yusuf Jamal and Yelena Soboleva (1500m), Yekaterina Volkova (3000m SC), Meseret Defar (pictured at right, 5000m). One Race Left for Wariner After 44.43 in Poland
Jeremy Wariner posted a 400m time of 44.43 in cool conditions at the 5th Pedro’s Cup meet in Warsaw, Poland. He is scheduled to run his last 400m of the season in Shanghai, China on 9/28/07 at the Shanghai Golden Grand Prix, the first-ever IAAF permitted one-day meet in China. X-C: Texas A&M Invitational Features 5 of NCAA South Central Region’s Top 8
Five of the top eight teams in the USTFCCCA South Central Region rankings will compete this Saturday at the Texas A&M Invitational Cross-Country meet in College Station, TX. In the high school division, 2,000 athletes from 145 schools will compete in 9 races. Two of the top ranked teams in Texas will go head-to-head: The Woodlands, ranked #1 will take on #2 ranked Southlake Carroll, led by 5A state champion Colby Lowe. Read more at: [USTFCCCA]
