IAAF World Athletics Final: Men’s 400m

With Jeremy Wariner not in the race, it was up to LaShawn Merritt and Angelo Taylor to uphold American dominance in the 400m Dash at the IAAF World Athletics Final in Stuttgart, Germany. Tyler Christopher of Canada and Gary Kikaya (COD) were also in the mix.
Merritt held off Christopher to win in 44.58, a fine late-season time. Christopher finished in 44.87 while Taylor was third in 44.92. Here are the final results:

2. Tyler CHRISTOPHER (CAN) 44.87
3. Angelo TAYLOR (USA) 44.92
4. Gary KIKAYA (COD) 45.58
5. John STEFFENSEN (AUS) 46.16
6. Martyn ROONEY (GBR) 46.25
7. Alleyne FRANCIQUE (GRN) 46.27
8. Sanjay AYRE (JAM) 46.32
