UltraRunner Scott Jurek wins Hardrock 100-mile Endurance Run; Sets new course record

As Brooks Sports athlete Scott Jurek raced across the finish line of the Hardrock 100-Mile Endurance Run, he pumped his fists victoriously and leaned down to kiss the Hardrock. The first of 97 finishers, Jurek set a new course record, surpassing the previous best by 27 minutes and completing the course in a breathtaking 26 hours and eight minutes. The Hardrock 100-Mile Endurance Run, which winds runners through Western Colorado’s San Juan Mountains, is considered a post-graduate run, stringently selecting its runners and forbidding the participation of novices. The 100-mile run boasts 33,000 feet of total elevation gain, with an average elevation of 11,186 feet.
