Britain Makes First World Champs Team Selections

UK Athletics released their first team selections this morning for the IAAF World Championships in Athletics which commences in Osaka, Japan, on August 25.
The first selections to the team are as follows (data courtesy of Tilastopaja Oy):
MEN -
800m: Michael Rimmer (Liverpool, Pembroke & Sefton), 03-Feb-1986, 1:45.23 PB.
1500m: Andy Baddeley (Harrow), 20-Jun-1982, 3:34.74.
5000m: Mo Farah (Newham & Essex), 13-Mar-1983, 13:09.40.
10,000m: No athletes named.
3000m S/C: Andrew Lemoncello (Fife AC), 12-Oct-1982, 8:23.74.
Marathon: Peter Riley (Leigh Harriers), 06-Jul-1979, 2:14:31; Dan Robinson (Stroud & District AC), 13-Jan-1975, 2:13:53.
WOMEN -
800m: Jemma Simpson (Newquay & Par), 10-Feb-1984, 1:59.99; Marilyn Okoro (Shaftsbury Barnet), 23-Sep-1984, 1:59.63.
1500m: Abby Westley (Loughborough Students), 15-Jul-1987, 4:08.74; Lisa Dobriskey (Ashford AC), 23-Dec-1983, 4:05.42.
5000m: Jo Pavey (Exeter Harriers), 20-Sep-1973, 14:39.96.
10,000m: Jo Pavey (Exeter Harriers), 20-Sep-1973, 31:26.94.

UK Athletics will announce a second wave of athletes next Tuesday, August 7.
