Last year, over 500 runners from 22 countries competed locally over 13.1 miles in a simultaneous, world wide running event that celebrated the shared experience of running together within the challenge of global competition. The resulting enthusiasm which spread across the globe has led to the announcement of the Second Annual “Phedippidations” World Wide Half Marathon, to be run over the weekend of October 13th and 14th.
”It’s fun to know that we’ll be taking part in an event with fellow runners all over the planet, and enjoying the camaraderie of a traditional road race” says one of the race directors, Steve Runner, from Central Massachusetts in the United States.
The Phedippidations World Wide Half Marathon is a free, non-commercial event where everyone is invited to register, train and run together in the spirit of friendship. Beginning today, runners of all abilities will be able to register for this unique event through the website, www.worldwidehalf.com .
