If you can’t make it to Indianapolis this weekend to see the AT&T USA Outdoor Championships in person, five hours of television coverage is available through both cable and over-the-air networks in the United States.
Friday’s action will be televised live for one hour on ESPN2, from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Eastern time (Indianapolis is in the Eastern time zone). Events to be contested within that window are the finals for both the men’s and women’s 100m and 5000m.
Viewers can watch Saturday’s action both live and on tape. NBC will have a live hour from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., while ESPN2 will offer taped coverage from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Finals to be held during the NBC live window include the men’s 400m hurdles and 400m, and women’s 1500m, 400m and 100m hurdles.
Coverage concludes on Sunday with a two-hour live telecast on NBC beginning at 1:00 p.m. Finals held within that timeframe are the men’s 3000m steeplechase, 800m, 200m, 1500m and 110m hurdles, and women’s 800m, 400m hurdles, and 200m.
There is no guarantee that any particular event will be broadcast, either live or on tape, on any of the broadcasts, so viewers should be flexible. That even includes the marquis events because the meet could be adversely affected by inclement weather. Last year’s competition was delayed multiple times for dangerous lightening and thunderstorms. Some of the delays lasted for several hours.
