With a reputation for originality and innovation unique in modern music, SEAL has fashioned a sound that single-handedly defines an era. In the process, he has garnered a loyal international following and sold more than 15 million albums, including his last Warner Bros. Records release, SEAL IV.
SEAL first appeared on the global stage with his groundbreaking 1991 debut SEAL. “Crazy,” the debut single, became a hit in the U.K. and rocketed into the Top 10 in America. SEAL spent three years working on his follow-up album. In 1994, he released his second album, titled SEAL, which included the smash U.S. hit “Prayer for the Dying.” A subsequent standout track, “Kiss From a Rose,” was included on the Batman Forever soundtrack and topped charts everywhere, remaining in the number one position for an impressive 12 weeks. SEAL went on to win multiple Grammy’s for the hit song, including Record of the Year, Song Of The Year, and Best Male Pop Vocal.
SEAL is currently working on a new album and will perform a number of fresh songs at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Post-race Concert.
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and has been voted “Best Marathon” by Competitor Magazine. Open to runners and walkers from novice to professional, more than 40 live bands entertain participants along the scenic course that passes a number of San Diego highlights. From the start line in Balboa Park to the finish line at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, participants are treated to live performances by bands playing everything from rock and reggae to blues and hip-hop. Adding to the excitement will be hundreds of local high school cheerleaders competing in the “Spirit on the Course” competition.
