Gay, Felix lead Visa Championship Series standings

Tyson Gay and Allyson Felix hold the respective early leads in USA Track & Field’s Outdoor Visa Championship Series following Sunday’s adidas Track Classic in Carson, Calif.

Gay grabbed the men’s series lead with his victory in the 100 meters in the wind-aided time of 9.79 seconds, and reigning World Outdoor 200m champion Allyson Felix jumped out to the lead in the women’s Visa Championship Series competition with her world leading time of 22.18 seconds.

2. Christian Cantwell 1238
3. Wallace Spearman 1234
4. Breaux Greer 1232
5. Terrence Trammell 1221

Women:
1. Allyson Felix 1204
1. Jenn Stuczynski 1204

4. Michelle Perry 1197
5. Dee Dee Trotter 1163

The 2007 Visa Championship Series will resume June 2 with the Reebok Grand Prix in New York City.
