As an avid runner himself, Rick understands that music can be an incredibly effective means of staying motivated throughout your training runs and workouts. Created with that in mind, this iMix features just the right mix of Motown to keep you upbeat and focused. Below you will find the complete track listings and a synopsis of the iMix by Rick.

SOUND RUNNING iMix #3 - Motown Mojo:
Motown is the foundation for most forms of contemporary music. It’s soulful sound created the tempo and harmonies that were assimilated into rock n’ roll. The lyrics strongly reflect the political and social issues of the sixties with intense and liberating passions; elements that work well with running and/or other types of exercise.
Running to this genre is great fun – but it also creates the problem of trying to fight back the urge to sing and dance (which unfortunately don’t work out too well while running!).
The mix presented here is just a small sample of the great music of Motown. The Four Tops were frequently played in my house while I was growing up, which explains why they appear so often on this list. I also decided to save the best for last with “What’s Going On?” by the legend … Mr. Marvin Gaye.
Enjoy this great list of classic songs and in the words of Edwin Starr, “Come on feet start moving. Got to get me there.”
