JUST RUN IT iMix #1: Hip-Hop and Rap

JUST RUN IT iMix #1, created by DJ ST(4-3) , is a 70-minute playlist of hip-hop and rap music. The music progressively gets more aggresive with an inspirational kick in the butt towards the end so you finish strong! DJ ST(4-3) presents Just Run It Volume 1 (Hip-Hop and Rap):

The very essence of Hip-Hop music comes from the ability of the beat and rhythm to energize and pump up the listener. When I used to train for my 5K and 1600 meter races while in high school, I used rap music as a supreme motivator. It would be common for me to go out on a 70 minute 12 mile run while listening to rap music on my headphones.

The first volume of Just Run it features classic throw back rap songs along with some more recent favorites. “Breathe, stretch, shake” by Ma$e is conveniently located at the beginning of the mix as a reminder to stretch before your workout. As the mix continues you will notice an increased emphasis on the pace of the beat and the tone of the song; this is used as motivation to increase your speed and improve your form as you work through the heart of your workout. The last couple of songs featured on this iMix (“Smash Sumthin”, “Down Bottom”, and “Ain’t Never Scared”) have given me, and will give you that extra kick for The Final Sprint.
